About Me
I trained in the psychodynamic tradition with The University Counselling Service in Cambridge. I hold a British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy Advanced and Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling. I am BACP accredited and a Registered Independent Counsellor. I have also completed a training with the Institute of Group Analysis. I began counselling 20 years ago.
My first career was in Art and Design. This developed my interest in the artistic expression of the unconscious and began my journey into counselling. Working initially with Adult Cruse for many years, I continued with specialist training to work with bereaved young people. Following this a colleague and I launched a new young people’s service in Huntingdonshire. This was the first of its kind in the area and after many years is still delivering a valuable counselling service.
Since completing my training, I now work in a variety of settings with both individuals and groups. These include my Private Practice, a Complementary Health Centre, Cambridgeshire Consultancy in Counselling and for two Employee Assistance Programmes. More recently I have formed a counselling partnership called Therapists in Practice, which runs personal development groups for men and women of all ages who are separating or divorcing and living through difficult times. Previously I’ve worked as a GP counsellor for two practices.
CPD is a minimum of 30 hours per year.

I believe seeking to work with a Counsellor is about making a positive choice to find the help that you need.
